Adria Palace is a derelict structure on Szabadság ter in Budapest, Hungary. Artr Meinig constructed the building in 1900, and it was previously home to the Adria Royal Hungarian Sea Navigation Company. While the nation is presently landlocked, before WWI, the borders of Austria-Hungary were different, allowing Hungary to access the Adriatic Sea. Hungary lost sea access after the war, and the shipping firm was closed.

Thankfully, the Adria Palace survived both World Wars and may now be seen by urbex explorers. Following WWII, the building was utilized for a variety of purposes, including banks, businesses, restaurants, and hospitals. The Express Travel Agency was in residence at the Adria for 40 years, so long in fact that the building was known for some time The Express House. In 1990, the agency was forced to shut due to its inability to stay solvent in a changing industry. It is currently abandoned, however it has been used in films such as Die Hard and one scene from Blade Runner 2049.

The abandoned Adria Castle in Budapest is a beautiful site filled with intricate intricacies. The Urbex crew discovered several treasures, including a glass balcony, moldings, a gold-plated fireplace, and a piano. We prepared 25 beautiful photographs taken inside the abandoned Adria Castle during our urbex Budapest tour.

There are no signs of vandalism, graffiti, or trash. Simply the fading beauty of this grandiose structure. This might be because the structure is located in the heart of a city rather than in a secluded place that fosters vandalism. According to recent reports, the Adria Palace refurbishment has just begun and will be completed in 2023; it will most likely become another Budapest hotel in the future.
